Great, so you have purchased the latest EA Skate 3 title and are looking forward to having a good time with the latest skateboarding game from EA. Well, before you get started with the addictive experience of Skate 3, let us take you through the major changes that have been introduced into the game.
Skate 3 Backdrop
The Skate 3 backdrop is quite different from the setup of Skate 2 and you would find that this time, the game takes place in a city that is friendly to skaters and skate boards. You are in the city of Port Carverton, with the tag of pro skater that has been stamped onto you. The city is exceptionally beautiful and the Skate 3 Xbox 360 and PS3 titles utilize their graphic potential in depicting the city in all its glory. You have some interesting locales that can be used for your skating endeavors, and some breathtaking scenery that can be enjoyed while kicking your opponent’s butt. As for the plot, the game picks up immediately after Skate 2, and it is evident that you have moved out of the older city due to the restrictions being imposed on skating. The main storyline of Skate 3 revolves around you establishing your name in the new city, along with your skateboarding business. You would have to compete with other skates and build up a career score, with the score being measured on the basis of the number of skateboard sales that you make. The best parts of the game are the different game modes that have been introduced, including some multiplayer and single player events.
EA Skate 3 Single Player Experience
Like all its predecessors, the EA Skate 3 does a good job of providing an extensive single player experience and career mode. The best part about the single player experience of Skate 3 is that you can move at your own pace and explore the beautiful city without worrying about finding challenges. The game is full of challenges and you can easily stumble upon some great ones by simply skating around the city. There are races, street challenges, film and photo shoots, 1-up games and the hall of meat mode of the game. Out of these, the 1-up games and the hall of meat mode are worth mentioning. While the 1-up game mode is all about beating the scores of another skater, the hall of meat challenge is about breaking the bones, not the records. The city is almost entirely open for your exploration in the single player mode and unlike Skate 2, you would not have to battle any guards who are preventing you from skating around. Another interesting addition to the single player experience is the different ways of completing a challenge, all of which are related to how well you perform during a challenge. While ‘owning’ a challenge is enough for you to progress through that level, it is the ‘killing it’ that requires you to move your pro skater muscles and perform some tricks while completing the challenge. All these improvements that have been made to the Skate 3 single player make this the best EA Skate game ever.
Unforgettable Multiplayer of Skate 3
The single player experience of Skate 3 is enough to get the laurels for this EA Skate version. However, this has not stopped EA from including an amazing multiplayer experience. All the offline and online elements have been woven together to ensure that there is a seamless connection between your offline and online experience. The amount of points that you earn in online events also influence your skateboard sales and give you a much better chance of meeting your objectives. With this in mind, some of you might be worried that the multiplayer experience of Skate 3 might be quite serious. Well, you need not worry about that as there are some amazing events that can be fun filled and addictive, like the hall of meat challenges that you face.
What’s Next?
With the EA Skate 3 generating the right interest in the gaming world, it is plausible that a better EA Skate title would be on the cards. It is expected that EA Skate 4 would be announced next year and rumors are that EA is already working on improving the experience of EA Skate 3.
